Due to HB2, W. K. Kellogg Foundation conference moved out of Asheville

April 26, 2016

North Carolina bears the burden of more economic strain over HB2, the controversial "bathroom bill" law. The W. K. Kellogg Foundation moved their conference out of Asheville over House Bill 2, resulting in an estimated $1.5 million loss for the area. The foundation released a public statement condemning the bill. Losing this conference in Asheville increases the negative economic impact of HB2 even further.
"It is very disappointing that North Carolina, among other states, has thought to enact legislation that overturns protections for all people including LGBT people, sanctioning open discrimination against them."
