North Carolina reports further HB2 related losses. Itzhak Perlman cancelled his planned performance at Raleigh's Meymandi Concert Hall in protest over NC's HB2. The artist released a public statement condemning the bill, and said he looks forward to returning to the state after its repeal.
Losing this concert in Raleigh increases the negative economic impact of HB2 even further. Scheduled for the Meymandi Concert Hall, the loss of this concert is an unfortunate side effect of the discriminatory bill.
"I have spent a lifetime advocating against discrimination towards those with physical disabilities and have been a vocal advocate for treating all people equally. As such, after great consideration, I have decided to cancel my May 18th concert in North Carolina with the North Carolina Symphony as a stand against House Bill 2."
