The state of North Carolina reports another loss due to HB2. Springsteen was scheduled to play Greensboro, but said he finds the passing of House Bill 2 unacceptable, and he is doing his part to push back. He was the first of many artists to cancel a performance in protest over the controversial bill.
Losing this concert in Greensboro increases the negative economic impact of HB2 even further.
"Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards."
